Towards the dawn

Towards the Dawn
by Gerald Baraquia

Would you recognize my voice if i call out to you?
Amidst the shouting rain would my voice sound new?
How long has it been since you left?
One and an eternity that was how it felt.

Have you found what you have been looking for?
Or did your longing for meaning grew all the more?
I dont blame you for leaving me behind
My faults i do not try to hide

You have gone through endless miles of searching
Never able to gain a single meaning
If you’re searching for love’s definition
Why not start with the pain of our relation

Should you ever grow tired of walking
Come seat with me my valiant darling
You do not have to wander alone
Lovers or not I’ll walk with you towards the dawn
For love can never be defined it could only be lived.
